Rick and Karen Frasure's Biography
Rick was born in 1956 in Pocatello, Idaho. His parents owned a bar, motel, and cafe. In
1969 his father contracted lung cancer and through that he came to know the Lord. His
father gave his heart to the Lord on his death bed.
Rick got curious about God through a pastor visiting his dad and went to church. Then
he came to know Jesus in February of 1970. At the age of 16 God called him into the
ministry with the following verses: 2 Tim 2:3-4 Thou therefore endure hardness, as a
good soldier of Jesus Christ. No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of
this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier. (KJV)
Then he received the baptism of the Holy Spirit in late June of 1970 while attending
Bible school in Fresno, California. At age 16 he started preaching. A number of people
came to know the Lord. Then he went to Tomlinson Bible College in Cleveland, Tennessee.
Our extended family
Karen was born in Council Bluffs, Iowa in 1956. Karen attended church ever since she
was a baby. Her mom Audrey taught her about faith and prayer at an early age. Karen
accepted the Lord in children's church. She has always loved Jesus ever since she
can remember. Her family often sang specials at church.
Karen's mom led nursing home services each week. The Lord gives Karen sincere
empathy for those that He leads her to minister to. Whenever people have problems
she knows that God is their answer and is gifted in encouraging them to go on.
At eleven Karen was in a car accident. Her sixteen year old sister was killed in
this accident. God miraculously spared Karen's life. But this event made Karen
know that God had a plan for her life. Two years later Karen's dad passed
away. During these two tragedies the Holy Spirit comforted her greatly in her
sorrow. Now she is better able to minister to those who have lost their loved ones.
Through all this she has learned to trust God even more.
Two years later, when Karen was sixteen, she sensed God wanted her to be a pastor's
wife. She received this calling while at youth camp. God told her to prepare,
so she went to Bible school in Tomlinson, Tennessee. There she majored in Christian
Education and Counseling.
At bible college Rick and Karen met. A year later in 1977 they got married and
started pastoring in Hermiston, Oregon. They got to build a 150 seat sanctuary at this
place.
After four years we moved on to The Dalles, Oregon. Here their first son Joshua was
born. They stayed there till 1985 (four years). They did a lot of itinerant ministry in
Washington and Idaho during this time. They also taught at many retreats, camps and
revivals while in Oregon.
Then they moved to a church in Albany, Oregon. The people there were just lovely.
They had a wonderful year of revival here. This is where their second son Andrew was
born.
They really enjoyed the church in Albany. But the Lord called them to Pocatello, Idaho
to pastor. Pocatello is Rick's home town and he now returned to his home church. For
three years here they enjoyed and experienced Gods presence with a new freshness.
Then Rick received a phone call from Bishop Gary Holcombe. Gary invited them to
come to Hawaii. After a week of prayer, they felt like the Lord would be pleased for them
to come. Where they spent the last eleven years.
The first 5 years were spent in Nanakuli, Hawaii. Here they pastored a very
"local" church. The congregation was of Hawaiian ethnicity and they were the
only Caucasians.
Then Rick and Karen's headquarters invited Rick to be bishop for the Hawaiian Islands.
After accepting this appointment they moved to Windward Worship Center in
Kaneohe, Hawaii. Here Rick served as the senior pastor for six years. During the
first two years of this tenure he also served as the state overseer.
While in Kaneohe Rick and Karen became involved with radio and television ministry.
They had the opportunity to introduce a lot of ministries and encourage them greatly. They
got to launch a lot of ministries this way. During this period Rick also ministered
three years to prisoners.
Additionally the whole family got to participate in two evangelistic outreaches to
Taiwan. Their church also hosted two English as a second language schools for a church in
Seoul, Korea.
Now the Lord is leading them into an interdenominational ministry. It is called
"On Eagles Wings" Exodus 19:5. With 22 years of pastoral experience they
are offering our ministry services to the Body of Christ at large.
Rick and Karen Frasure
Rick's initial foray begins with being Chairman of the 1999 Oahu March for Jesus.
This event requires a great deal of planning and direction. All the preparations
must be done through a interdenominational group of volunteers. This celebration of
praise hosts an estimated 10,000 marchers on the island of Oahu. They approximate
that fifteen million participate in this march world wide.
